My usual day goes like this:  Gigising, titingnan ang fone kung may nagtxt, (which is madalang na manyri ngaun,haha dahil ndi nmn aq nkkreply s mga ngttxt sken, i guess ngsawa n cla mgtxt) kung mjo antok pa ndi muna babangon, mgbbasa muna ng ebook s fone ko (ngaun mttapos ko na un Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire) toz pag gising na gising na babangon na. Titimpla ng coffee at haharap na sa computer. At ganun na un maghapon. Computer at computer. Malapit ko na nga maging kamukha ung computer nmen eh! haha! Maalis lang aq d2 sa pagkkaupo ko sa harap ng PC kung kakain na. O kaya umiiyak c Atom o kaya pumupu c Asha. Hehe.

At ung usual routine ko na yan ai mjo nabago kanina! Aba pagbukas ko ng PC ayaw gumana ng mouse! Keri lang nun una kc dte ngyyari na din un,pag nirestart ook din xa. Aba, nka-4 n restart nako gnun pa din. Edi super tab tab aq. Eh mhirap din un tab lng gamit. Di ko kabisado. Ung magoopen nga ng new window eh nalaman ko lang knina na F2 pla pwd.hehe. Pero mahirap kya sumuko din ako shinutdown ko nalang ult un PC. At naisipan kong maglinis ng bahay. Haha. Himala! Ako naisip maglinis? Yes, naisip ko un! Haha. Aun ngsuper linis aq. At kttpos ko lang ngaun at charan guess what pagbukas ko ng PC ok na ung mouse! ^_^ Hai, papansin lang un mouse na to! Gusto lang pla ako paglinisin sa bhay! Hehe.

My first two days in Bahay-Puso. If I will be asked how am i gonna describe in a few words my first two days of duty in Bahay-puso I would probably describe it as super tiring yet super fulfilling! ^_^ Grabe yung pagod tlga! To the highest level lalo nung 1st day! Dun nalang ult aq pinagpawisan ng gnun katindi at napahingal tlaga sa super pagod! Pero nun nalang din ako nakafeel ng sense of fulfillment for a long time! Ang sarap ng feeling na naaccomplish nmen ung ganun kahirap na task! At nun second day nmen infairness mas mabilis na nmen nagawa ung mga tasks nmen. Mas organized na at little by little nasasanay na din kme s routine dun!

Cguro mga 1week pa makakabisa ko na din lahat ng names ng mga Lolo at Lola dun. Nakakatuwa nga sila. Super iba iba tlga cla ng personality. May makulit na Lola. Tulad ni Lola Teresing. Naku po first day eh natawag kme ni Chona na sinungaling at manloloko. Pano ung bimpo daw nya ayaw nmen kunin sa sampayan. Nakakatuwa pa nman xa makulit tlga xa parang bata. Pero kahit matanda na xa super matandain xa sa names nmen. Nku tinatawag nya tlga kme ni Chona sa names nmen. Nkakatuwa. hehe. Lage un pag nakikita nya kme ung bimpo nya lage ibbilin. Tamang collection nya kc ung bimpo! Yung isa nman Lola c Lola Inday. Nku npaka hot- headed! Super palaaway! Hala, lahat inaaway! Nku mahirap xa makabangga. Ai natatawa na nga lang kme sa kakulitan nya. Toz super daldal nya. Ung bibig nya parang armalite alang tigil! hehe. Kya nung inorient kme ni Ma’am Cathy sabi nya maging careful daw kme dun ky Lola Inday kc palaaway dw tlga un. My mental problem kc xa pero may regular check-up nman dw un s mental ward.  Yung isa naman Lola c Lola Bella, bulag xa. Toz tinanong nya name ko cnb q nmn Lallaine. Laine nalang kako. Tigasaan daw ako. Sabi ko Mariveles. Sabi ba nman ibili ko daw xa ng Vicks kc bday nya nun araw na un(nun Saturday). Eh bwal dw kme mgbigay kc mamimihasa. Toz kay Chona nmn headband yung hinihingi. Hehe. Hai super dame ko pa gus2 ikwen2 sa mga Lolo at Lola dun at sa experience ko dun pero i have to go na. May gagawin pa kasi ko. I guess i’ll just continue this on my next post! ^_^

This question has been thrown on me so frequently since I told everyone I know about my decision of volunteering myself in that institution. So frequently that I feel the need to explain or rather tell the reason behind that decision.  Hmm..so why Bahay puso???… My answer is–Why NOT? *winks*

People have been asking me why volunteer there?  Why not in a hospital? Hmm..actually that decision just came on me just recently–a month ago i guess. My former plans definitely involved hospital settings. But then first week of June, i attended this training–BLS-CPR in Redcross, Bataan Chapter. There I met JR,he’s one of the staffs there in Bahay-Puso. He told us all about his experience there. Me & my friend Chona got interested in volunteering there. And so we did! Two weeks after our training, we went there & submitted our resume. ^_^ We both see it as a great opportunity to gain experience since were both planning to work in Nursing Homes abroad.

This Saturday we’ll be starting our duty. We’ve chosen weekends schedule, & Ma’am Cathy also suggested that sched so that we would really be able to give hand-ons care with the Lolo’s & Lola’s there.

Hmmm…I’m so looking forward to my duty there. This is my very first ‘work’ experience since I graduated last year. I’m really hoping that this will be both a source of fun & learning! ^__^

I checked my wallet earlier this afternoon & found out that my two 500 peso bills were not two anymore! Waaa isa nalang xa!! Nawawala na un isa! I’m saving that money pa naman para may pang-allowance ako sa duty ko next month. Hai naman! Ang malas mo girl! At feeling ko nakasama pa ata nung sinabi ko un sa Mama ko. Muntik na naman xa mahighblood! Parang gusko nya ko batukan sa kacareless san ko! Haha! At pinag-iisipan pa nya kumuha ay yung kasambahay namen dito. Pero para sakin mahirap na magbintang! Kaya ayoko pag-isipan ng masama kahit cno. Hai. Kung may dapat man sisihin ngaun ay walang iba kundi AKO! Me & my sloppy self! +_+
And what pisses me off more is the fact that this same thing had happened na before! Yes, not just once. Not just twice! But thrice na!!! Waaa. Lage nalang ako nawawalan ng 500 peso bill! Why does it always have to be 500?! Bakit d nalang bente! Hehe. Naman. Nakkainis. Ngaun pang wala kong trabaho. Every peso counts. Hehe. Hai.buhay.

Today I woke up quite early than usual, around 5am & there were four messages on my celfone. Two of those came from someone that seldom texts me. And just by reading his text, I could feel his sadness while texting me. I deleted his message right away cuz I couldn’t stand reading it anymore. I feel so blameworthy coz I know that I’m reason behind his misery. I’m the one who’s making him feel so upset. I want to alleviate that sadness somehow yet something in me is stopping me from doing so.  My heart says that I should let him heal on his own. That it would be better for him. I just hope that someday he’ll be able to really understand why I’m doing this to him.

The Doll & A White Rose

I hurried into the local department store to grab some last minute Christmas gifts. I looked at all the people and grumbled to myself. I would be in here forever and I just had so much to do. Christmas was beginning to become such a drag. I kinda wished that I could just sleep through Christmas. But I hurried the best I could through all the people to the toy department. Once again I kind of mumbled to myself at the prices of all these toys. And I wondered if the grandkids would even play with them. I found myself in the doll aisle.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a little boy, about 5, holding a lovely doll. He kept touching her hair and he held her so gently. I could not seem to help myself. I just kept looking over at the little boy and wondered who the doll was for. I watched him turn to a woman, and he called his aunt by name and said, “Are you sure I don’t have enough money?” She replied a bit impatiently,”You know that you don’t have enough money for it.” The aunt told the little boy not to go anywhere, that she had to go get some other things and would be back in a few minutes. And then she left the aisle.

The boy continued to hold the doll. After a bit I asked the boy who the doll was for. He said, “It is the doll my sister wanted so badly for Christmas. She just knew that Santa would bring it.” I told him that maybe Santa was going to bring it. He said, “No, Santa can’t go where my sister is…I have to give the doll to my Mamma to take to her.”I asked him where his sister was. He looked at me with the saddest eyes and said, “She has gone to be with Jesus. My Daddy says that Mama is going to have to go be with her.”My heart nearly stopped beating. Then the boy looked at me again and said, “I told my Daddy to tell Mama not to go yet. I told him to tell her to wait till I got back from the store”.

Then he asked me if I wanted to see his picture. I told him I would love to. He pulled out some pictures he had taken at the front of the store. He said “I want my Mamma to take this with her so she don’t ever forget me.” “I love my Mama so very much and I wish she did not have to leave me. But Daddy says she will need to be with my sister.”

I saw that the little boy had lowered his head and had grown so very quiet. While he was not looking, I reached into my purse and pulled out a handful of bills. I asked the little boy, “Shall we count that money one more time?” He grew excited and said, “Yes, I just know it has to be enough”. So I slipped my money in with his, and we began to count it. Of course it was plenty for the doll. He softly said, “Thank you, Jesus, for giving me enough money.” Then the boy said “I just asked Jesus to give me enough money to buy this doll, so Mama can take it with her, to give to my sister. And He heard my prayer.” “I wanted to ask Him for enough to buy my Mama a white rose, but I didn’t ask Him, but He gave me enough to buy the doll and a rose for my Mama.She loves white roses so very, very much”.

In a few minutes the aunt came back, and I wheeled my cart away. I could not keep from thinking about the little boy as I finished my shopping in a totally different spirit than when I had started. And I kept remembering a story I had seen in the newspaper several days earlier, about a drunk driver hitting a car and killing a little girl and leaving the Mother in serious condition. The family was deciding on whether to remove the life support. Now surely this little boy did not belong with that story. Two days later, I read in the paper where the family had disconnected the life support and the young woman had died. I could not forget the little boy, and just kept wondering if the two were somehow connected.

Later that day, I could not help myself and I went out and bought some white roses and took them to the funeral home, where the young woman was. And there she was, holding a lovely white rose, the beautiful doll, and the picture of the little boy in the store. I left there in tears, my life changed forever. The love that little boy had for his little sister and his mother was overwhelming. And in a split second a drunk driver had ripped the life of that little boy to pieces.
